Thank You to our Supporters and Friends

Dear Supporters and Friends,

We at the Arts Council of Williamson County are grateful to our 2011 donors, supporters and volunteers.  With your help, it has been a major growth year for the arts in Williamson County.  Much has been accomplished:

  • Artfusion, a 5th year juried show of the work of regional artists at The Factory of Franklin, attracted a diverse group of prominent professional artists to Middle Tennessee;
  • Williamson County Association of Realtors, Lehman & Lehman and the Chamber of Commerce of Williamson County graciously provided non-traditional exhibition spaces for so many local artists;
  • Grid Row, our program which showcases the work of student artists studying with professional artists in the community moved into the Williamson County Public Library;
  • Eight successful Art: Up Close and Personal lectures and nine Brown Bag Lunch Bunch series also took place at the Williamson County Public Library in 2011;
  • The launch of Historic StARTs, a program to begin to instill in youngsters 3-6 years old an appreciation of history and the arts took place at Carnton Plantation and the Carter House;
  • An Artist's Window, a 5th year partnership with WAVES, Inc, art exhibit and sale, showcasing the abilities of adults with disabilities;
  • Support of the Franklin Art Scene has enriched more than 20 area businesses by facilitating partnerships between businesses and individual Williamson County artists.

Our newest initiative is our most ambitious.  We are launching an Artist-in-Residence program in the Williamson County Schools.  In a pilot program, area artists will be matched and placed in a select group of schools to enhance the arts curriculum.

To support these programs and our Artist-in Residence program, we need your help and financial support.

We know YOU know how important the arts are to a community… to OUR community.  Please help us as we continue to weave the arts into schools, businesses and the fabric of Williamson County.  There are several options available for you to choose. Become a member, we have many levels available. Check it out at  membership.
