CONTEST INFORMATION
Waves, Inc. & The Arts Council of Williamson County
are proud to announce the 2nd Annual Art Contest with the theme
“An Artist’s Window"
DETAILS
Artwork submitted will be shown at The Factory in Franklin Friday March 28, 2008. Artists and their guests will be able to describe their work as well as meet other Artist’s from around the Middle Tennessee Area.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to all artists 18 or older, residing in Middle Tennessee with Developmental Disabilities. Art work considered for the contest will include the following disciplines: painting, photography, printmaking, drawing, digitally created or enhanced work, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics as sculpture, and fabric art. Work must be original and completed within the theme for this contest. Only one piece of artwork per person will be exhibited. We welcome artwork from all levels of ability.
*Note- Only original work will be displayed, reproductions will not be accepted.
AWARDS
Awards include a $100 best of show and others. All artists will be recognized for their artwork.
ENTRY FEE
The fee is $10 for each participant. Please make checks payable to Waves, Inc.
CALENDAR
February 22, 2008 Registration Forms Due
March 14, 2008 Art Work Must be delivered to the Waves office
March 28, 2008 Artist Show at The Factory in Franklin (invitations will be sent out to all participating Artists to the event)
INSTRUCTIONS
All artwork must be less than 35 lbs and no larger than 24”x24” (exception of fabric art 60”x60”). All work must be wired to hang (if it needs to hang) and dry. Artwork is not required to be framed (no glass), however, it must be mounted if necessary to display properly. Each work must have a label on the back, which includes the following: Artist’s Name, Title of Work, if the work is for sale, address, and phone number. No refunds of entry fees will be made for entries that do not follow these guidelines.
DELIVERY
All artwork must be delivered to the Waves, Inc. Main office no later than 4:00pm on Friday March 14, 2008. Please call Julie Long if you need assistance (615)794-1661.
